If you worked on Stick, you’re “my people,” and I would LOVE to connect!
Hey…
…remember that episode of Stick when Pryce made that all-or-nothing bet that he could get the ball closer to the hole against Clark?
…the ball bounced on the water. I was sooooo invested…
…goodness gracious, when Pryce won I stood up in my chair and thanked the Heavens for literature. For theater, for movies, for novels, for poems, for songs — for “make believe.”
It’s sweetly tragic that it sometimes takes theater for us to believe that magic can happen in our real lives. That moment really moved me, and I wanted to say thank you.
I hoped that there would be another series and waited. I thought of some cool alternatives for Zero’s back story. Actually, my parents were going to travel around the USA in a camper van — and they never did.
Look, I’m an award-winning composer and singer-songwriter, born and raised in the USA but much more “known” in Latvia.
Here is a small sampling of my work:
**Time Flies**
A song for nostalgic moments:
**An incomplete list of works with a “Score Bookshelf”**
**Surrounding Flutes**
An academic composition chosen just to show you that “I have chops.”
**Singing with “the youth” in Latvia**
Latvian folkloric tradition has fundamental ways of life similar to a Buddhist’s path. Essential instructions are expressed in 4-line poems called “Dainas” which actually means that my name means “Man of Song.”
Thank you!
I’d really love to contribute to Stick or future similar projects. I can write songs/music to suit moments. I have all the degrees and everything. I’ve acted on stage and am a dedicated Dad, so if you need “Good Dad Vibes” at all — a caring side character — even me singing somewhere…we can talk…
Best,
-Dainis W. Michel
PS: If you do reach out, please send an SMS beforehand & try multiple numbers — I’m a pretty “well known” personality in Latvia, so I get a lot of inquiries, and I want to make sure you can get through.
